Music clips...

I can't really call this blog Music and Musings, unless I include a regular dose of the stuff. So, here you go!!

A new aria by old Bach. Amazing! Recently discovered in a museum that was wrecked by fire. Also amazing, because Bach was born in 1685. Hey, it's beautiful. Click on this link, then click on Audio Extra, once you get to the site. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4695336

New life is also being breathed into classical vocal music--the genre of the opera band! Simon from 'American Idol' has his own group of testosterone-charged classical vocalists, but here's an up-and-coming group--AMICI (pronounced ah-mee-chee). Move over, Beatles? Well, maybe not, but you will hear some lovely Italian diction and short clips from favorite operas, voice students!! http://www.amiciforever.com/

You need a lullaby? go here, and listen to some audio clips from Loreena McKennitt's "Parallel Dreams" album, for starters. http://www.quinlanroad.com/explorethemusic/paralleldreams.asp
